History:
CUC's reputation as a major and important employer of Caymanians is only matched now by the Company's attitude towards developing this talent and ensuring the path towards career enhancement is clear.
The Company recognises that an ongoing human resource development programme is essential to ensure the continued growth and success of CUC. We are therefore committed to providing our employees with the training necessary to excel in their respective fields and to ensure that they are afforded the opportunity to assume positions of increasing responsibility within the organisation.
Periodically, CUC awards Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Technician Scholarships for a four-year or two-year course leading to a Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or a Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Technology, tenable at a University or Technology/Technician Institute in the Caribbean, United States or Canada.
In the past, the Company has awarded several scholarships to employees in the Financial Services industry, who have gone on to gain their degrees in Finance, Accounting and Business Administration.
In 2021, CUC awarded its first scholarship in the Sustainability field to a young lady who will be studying urban sustainability. This course of study encourages revitalisation and transition of urban areas and cities/towns to improve liveability, promote innovation and reduce environmental impacts while maximising economic and social co-benefits.
Commenting on the Company's successful Scholarship Programme, Richard Hew, President & CEO, adds, "CUC's best investments are those made in the training and development of its people, in particular the young generation of Caymanians, who must be well prepared to meet the responsibilities of the long-term success of the Company. We congratulate our scholarship recipients on embracing this opportunity and challenge and wish them every success in their studies."
